French term

PAE

French to English Law/Patents Law (general) Civil proceedings
The handwritten abbreviation "PAE" appears after the date (11 AVR. 2016 / PAE) stamped at the top of the first page of a court of first instance order from Geneva, Switzerland.

EvaVer (X) Sep 14, 2016:
Is the date the same as the date of the judgment? Or later? It could be the date when the judgment will enter into force if no appeal is formed - something like "purgé d'appel et exécutoire"?
Jason Schrier (asker) Sep 13, 2016:
Hello all. Thanks for the quick replies and suggestions. These 3 letters do not match anyone's names, unfortunately. Only blank space appears below it. It's at the top of the page in the center. It is a typical date stamp (dd MONTH yyyy). The letters are handwritten right after the date. The first glyph looks like a /, although looking again, however, the / could be a capital "I" giving us IPAE.

Yes It's probably someone's initials - have you checked the name of the person who wrote the document?
AllegroTrans Sep 13, 2016:
Could you please tell us what appears immediately below this line? My inclination is to think this could perhaps be the initials of the Judge or the Court Clerk.
