Hello everyone.

You know, every now and then, someone would kick off to us, and they would--you know, they'd say, "well, you know, we're " and, you know, nine out of ten times when they kicked off to him, he'd run it back. So what they started doing was squib kicking it, you know, ***right up the center of the line***. So what we started doing was, the boy that grabbed the ball, he ran and pitched the ball back to Marcus. He scored.

And here is a short clip of a squib kick:

What does "right up the center of the line" mean?

Does it simply mean to send a ball, by squib-kicking, to the centre of the field?

Thank you

down the center of the field for a short distance

In American football, if you kick the ball out of bounds during a kickoff (by squib kicking or not), it results in a penalty and a favorable position for the receiving team. So, they kick it down the center, short, so it does not go out of bounds and does not get into the arms of the dangerous return man.

My understanding of it and Go Eagles!
