Lo slip è un ruolo o una posizione nel campo, io credo che vada considerata tutta la frase.
Poi comunque hanno ragione anche Francesco, perché il vocabolo viene proprio da "scivolare" e la posizione è sul bordo campo, vicino al battitore, e anche Carla, perché di fatto si tratta di recuperare una palla.
