Scanning error? I am getting more and more convinced that the source text is faulty. If the previous line is a number, and this line is just "die can", it's possible that the original text was in fact "xx dia can", i.e. "bidon de diamètre xx"...

Context and parsing Are you sure that "can" is a noun and not a verb? What comes before and after this?
