Quería chequear la traducción de la palabra monte. Por ahora lo más cercano que encontré es la palabra "scrub".

"Scrubland" is technically correct, but in the United States I would never say this. To keep the sentiment that "final del monte" uses, I would say "woods" or "Forest" because it is the most accurate and invokes the same image

Bueno, depende mucho DEL país, no EN EL país.
Y como no se precisa de cuál se trata, pues bien: el mayor país hispanoparlante es México y, de ninguna manera, podría significar woods.

: Its most certain that you should go with mountain than forest/woods. I just would go with "top of the mountain" than "end of the mountain", because the first make sense in english and last only in Spanish.

In some countries "monte" could be a "bosque" (woodland) instead of a mountain. I do not know if this is the case.
