Het betreft een tekst over een liersysteem en de betreffende term zit in een stuk over motorreductoren.
De set bestaat uit een kettingwiel met 16 tanden, een ketting (p= 5/8”) met sluitschakel en een *laskettingwiel*.
Het *laskettingwiel* is leverbaar voor aandrijfbuizen 1”, 5/4” of 2”.
Niet veel hits voor 'laskettingwiel', dus ik vind het moeilijk om een idee te krijgen wat het is. Ik ken natuurlijk het woord 'kettingwiel', wat ik als 'sprocket wheel' vertaald heb. Ik probeer te achterhalen wat het voorstukje 'las-' toevoegt. Betreft het een wiel voor een lasketting? Wat is een lasketting dan? Weet iemand de juiste vertaling in het Engels? Ik heb de term 'sprocket wheel joint' gevonden (Engelse versie van een Nederlandse site), maar de enige hits op Google zijn de Engelse vertalingen van dat bedrijf. Misschien niet direct zo heel betrouwbaar.
Kortom: wat is een lasketting? Is dat een speciaal soort ketting? Is een laskettingwiel dan wellicht het kettingwiel voor die speciale soort ketting? Alle hulp om mij in de goeie richting te helpen is zeer welkom.

Terry John, ik kan jou helaas geen punten geven want ik kende de door jou voorgestelde vertaling al en je hebt mij er niet van kunnen overtuigen dat het wel een betrouwbare vertaling is.
Katrien, ook jou kan ik naar beste eer en geweten geen punten toebedelen omdat ik nergens een duidelijke referentie zie die vertelt wat een lasketting is zodat ik die kan vergelijken met jouw vertalingen om te zien of ze juist zijn.
Het spijt me en hoop dat ik hiermee niemand op zijn tenen trap.
