Polish term

surowcowy

Polish to English Science Cosmetics, Beauty safety assessment
Zapach: surowcowy

This is from a safety assessment of a product intended for use in the bath. No further relevant information concerning the odour is available. Does the use of the term "surowcowy" simply indicated that the product is fragrance-free and thus the only odour is that of the raw materials used to produce it?

Use - "surowca" (as a noun) instead -- "zapach: surowca", for instance:
Suszyć należy początkowo na powietrzu, później w pomieszczeniach o podwyższonej temperaturze. Dopiero po wysuszeniu pojawia się charakterystyczny zapach surowca.

Just to show you that "zapach surowca" may be used as a safe phrase, while "zapach surowcowy" sounds sort of like a phrase invented by someone who had a good time :).

I 'm not sure whether you'll find a written 'official' and 'binding' definition of the adjective 'surowcowy'.

As far as I know the Polish language, I can agree with Krys that in this case the adjective 'surowcowy' means 'the only odour is that of the raw materials used to produce it'.

Who knows. This is some language-nouveau. You could check the Polish definition of the word--in Polish.

I think you may be right.
