Spanish term

Formador de Formadores

Spanish to English Other Education / Pedagogy
En la traducción de una página web de una Consultora Educativa, al presentar a los integrantes indica que uno de ellos ha sido "Docente y formador de profesores especializado en entornos de aprendizaje que integran elementos digitales y se dirigen a la atención personalizada del alumnado."

He encontrado varios términos, siempre muy redundantes. Al poner "Docente y Formador de Formadores" también me limita mucho pues no puedo usar el término Teacher tan seguidamente no? Teacher and Teachers Trainer por ejemplo

Muchas gracias!

I agree with James Peel It's not clear which term the asker is trying to translate. "Formador de profesores" is "teacher trainer", and "formador de formadores" is "trainer of trainers". I think "trainer trainer" sounds a bit odd, but "trainer of trainers" gets lots of hits. All the hits I found for "formador de formadores" related to corporate training, not education.

Old dog, few tricks When I studied the RSA Dip TEFLA over 20 years ago, I was struck by the lengths people would go to to avoid using terminology perceived as outmoded, such as teacher/people/student. Sometimes when something walks and quacks like a duck, it actually is simply a duck...

Teacher and trainers' trainer

Para evitar la redundancia, usa "teacher" para docente y trainers' trainer para "formador de formadores." Simple y directo.

Teacher and teacher trainer

This is one option.

You could also list "teaching and teacher training" as their work activities.

http://www.education.gov.uk/get-into-teaching/teacher-traini...

Both sound quite convoluted but it is important to stress that they are providing training to teachers.

agree neilmac : Had to cancel my agrees with Sam and Chris, as this is the right solution for the query posted IMHO.

Teacher Trainer

Not really much room for anything else, y aun que parezca redundante realmente son cosas muy distintas, por tanto veo perfectamente aceptable hablar de "Teacher and Teacher Trainer"... De hecho yo lo soy jeje ;)

Teacher trainers

You're on the right track I feel, but must admit to struggling with this terminology before. As a native English speaker "Teacher" for me implies regulated teaching, whereas "formador de formadores" also applies to unofficial learning (courses etc...)

Below is a link to the Teacher Trainer Journal where they talk of "for those who train, mentor and educate..." language teachers

Trainer trainer

"Formador de formadores" is not a teacher trainer (ie someone who trains people to teach) but a trainer trainer (ie someone who trains people to become teacher trainers) - it's a job I have done before now.

However, is this actually what you mean? From the first paragraph of your explanation, it would seem that you actually mean "teacher trainer" - it's not clear where the actual term in question comes into the text?
