Another couple of options:

1. "..THE GUYS IN THE BAND JUST BLEW A FUSE" (see similar versions below)

blow a gasket; blow one's cork; blow one's lid; blow one's top; blow one's stack Fig. to explode with anger; to lose one's temper. Come on, don't blow a fuse. Go ahead, blow a gasket! What good will that do?

2. "..THE GUYS IN THE BAND WENT TOTALLY APESHIT!"

hit the blooby ceiling /went bloody ballistic

Suggestion

I think one or the other could work.

Verb 1. hit the ceiling - get very angry and fly into a rage; "The professor combusted when the student didn't know the answer to a very elementary question"; "Spam makes me go ballistic"

que te cagas
(como adj) damn (v. inf), bloody (v. inf) ⇒ ¡en la sierra hace un frío que te cagas! it's bloody freezing in the mountains! (v. inf) ⇒ el jefe tiene una cara que te cagas the boss has got a bloody nerve (v. inf) ⇒ la película estaba que te cagabas the film was bloody brilliant (v. inf) ⇒ la tía estaba que te cagas she was drop dead gorgeous (inf)

they went apeshit

This is short and sweet and also keeps the reference to "cagas"

OK Carol and Lisa, didn't see that. Totally apeshit is even more expressive
