Dutch term

ATA

Dutch to English Bus/Financial Business/Commerce (general)
Deze logfiles moeten binnen het kader van dit bestek door de inschrijvende partijen omgezet worden tot ATA (voor live kijken)/TSV (uitgesteld kijken) bestanden.

This is part of an RFP to provide television audience research data. TSV stands for Time shifted viewing, but I've no idea what ATA could mean.

TIA.

Discussion

LAB2004 (asker) Oct 4, 2013:
Hi everyone. Sorry for the delay in posting here. It turns out that ATA doesn't actually stand for anything - verified by one of the organisations mentioned in my translation. Go figure. Some kind research by a proz member helped out hugely. Thanks as always to everyone for pitching in.
Richard Purdom Sep 18, 2013:
Might mean Air-To-Air, but I'm inclined to agree with Phil, since TSV is an English acronym.
LAB2004 (asker) Sep 17, 2013:
Hi Phil. I always need to be sure before sending in a translation that I know what it means, even if it appears to be a target language term already and the customer is likely to know what it means. I've learned over the years not to assume anything!
Andrew Howitt Sep 17, 2013:
I don't agree with your assumption Phil, that the customer will know what it means. Remember old adage: Assume = Ass - you - me. It's quite amazing how many people are not fully aware of abbreviations in their own branch. The manager reading it is often not as au fait as the 'grunt' who has to execute the work.
philgoddard Sep 17, 2013:
Does it really matter what it stands for? It's almost certainly English rather than Dutch, and your customer will know what it means even if you don't.
