Telecom(munications)
Hola a todos:
Traduzco una web de una empresa de telecomunicaciones y no acabo de encontrar la traducción de "long-distance hops". Es decir, ¿creéis que simplemente podríamos dejarlo en "grandes distancias", tal vez?
Fragmento:
"XYZ solutions employ a unique combination of technologies that offers up to 99.999% availability in highly challenging environments and extreme weather conditions. In communication paths with challenges such as high interference, obstructions, water, long-distance hops, and brutal weather events, our systems are often the only systems that can connect reliably. Such performance excellence is unique in the wireless broadband world where 95% availability or "good enough" is often the norm."
Gracias, compañeros.

saltos de larga distancia
Hello! This is what I found in the COLLAZO glossary:
"hop (Radiocom) salto, trayectoria de reflexión, trayecto de onda
reflejada.
reflexión [order of reflection]." Hope being of help! Regards

saludos de alegria a larga distancia
Es como se entiende a partir de alegría.
2 hrs
gran distancia entre nodos de retransmisión
7 hrs
brechas en larga distancia
In the context, hops can be interpreter as gap or jump.
As gap would be as "vacio entre largas distancias".
As jump would be "incrementos de largas distancias"
But I'm inclined for "brechas en larga distancia"

The hop count refers to the intermediate devices (like routers) through which data must pass between source and destination, rather than flowing directly over a single wire.[1] Each router along the data path constitutes a hop, as the data is moved from one Layer 3 network to another. Hop count is therefore a basic measurement of distance in a network...
Hop count is a rough measure of distance between two hosts. A hop count of n means that n gateways separate the source host from the destination host. By itself, this metric is, however, not useful for determining the optimum network path, as it does not take into consideration the speed, load, reliability, or latency of any particular hop, but merely the total count. Nevertheless, some routing protocols such as RIP use hop count as their sole metric...
