This is a list of steps in the production of breaded meat. I'm having trouble mainly with 'encolado'. I think it's some kind of binding mix/mixture to help the breadcrumbs stick to the meat. But I don't see how this fits with 'cinta' (like a (conveyor) belt?) I've also seen 'cinta' translated as 'loin' so maybe they're talking about putting the meat into this mixture? But then the next step is 'encolado de las piezas' (covering the pieces with the binding/batter mix?). Any help would be appreciated.

@ Helena I know what you mean, and I was initially doubtful about "batter"/"battering" for that reason. When you make a batter at home it contains egg by definition, as far as I'm concerned, but strictly speaking it doesn't have to - a batter is simply some sort of flour plus a liquid. In industrial production they virtually always use non-egg batters, for obvious reasons of avoiding infection.

In this book on poultry products, they use the word "battering". In this case, "encolado", it's a so-called "adhesion batter". It says that industrial batters normally contain "wheat flour, corn flour, proteins, gums and leavening agents" (foot of p. 295): no mention of egg.

@Charles You could well be right. It's just that batter contains egg and flour and I'm not sure what Lisa's encolado is made of! Anyway, I was about to go out but I wanted to give my tuppence ha'penny worth!

@ Helena I considered "coating" too, but from my reading it's broader than this and applies to flouring/dusting and breading stages as well. I think "battering" is the word; it's applied to any liquid applied at that stage, with or without egg.

"Batter coating" should be fine, logically, but "coating" isn't really needed; "battering" alone would be enough. In fact your excellent reference says "Battering machine belt conveyors are available in three different widths."

@ Lisa Either battering machine belt if they're using a separate battering machine, or battering belt/conveyor if they're using a combined battering/breading machine. The latter is quite possible.

Yep The alco-Battering-Machine, type APN, is designed to coat products with liquid batter before breading. The machine can also handle other liquid ... Belt width. 250 mm; 400 mm; 600 mm; 700 mm; 900 mm; 1000 mm other belt-widths on request.

Further context Actually 'cinta' can't refer to 'loin' as further on in the text I have in one column entitled 'Phase' - 'Incorporación a la cinta de encolado' and under another column entitled 'Cause of hazard' - Higiene deficiente de la cinta de encolado', so it looks like it's some piece of machinery/belt. Maybe 'battering machine belt'?

As per discussion and references posted there. "Encolado", as the name suggests, is the application of a binding agent, and this specifically equates to battering. "Battering belt" alone would probably do, in fact.

breading/battering/enrobing conveyor (line)

Depending on what type of foodstuff the meat is being coated/wrapped in. If "empanado", is this is more like pastry? If so, enrobing conveyor (line) may be better than breading conveyor (line).
Example sentence:

To a breader conveyor there is added a plurality of restrained flow cascading tumbling conveyors positioned to produce roughness of the breading. Slip plates at the terminal portions of the conveyors act to restrain the free flow of the battered and flour
