Dutch term
verticaal vloersoppervlak
Dutch to English

Architecture
Am translating a lease agreement stipulating all kinds of floor areas. Can't seem to find US english translations for some of the Dutch terms, including verticaal vloersoppervlak. Have found mechanical area, but it's not an exact equivalent. Any thoughts anyone?

Vertical traffic area OR area for vertical traffic
Zie 'Verticaal verkeersoppervlak' in Wikipedia
The UK-English text on ArchDaily.com (see reference) explains this clearly. 'Mechanical area' also includes areas that are not used for vertical traffic, so would NOT cover 'Verticaal verkeersoppervlak' precisely, though it does include that area.
