Chinese term

拍砖头

Chinese to English Other Idioms / Maxims / Sayings
I'm wondering what idiomatic English phrase could best express "拍砖头“

In the context, one person asks "What if the new leader messes up, too?" and the reply is "就拍一块砖头“

Thanks to all for the suggestions. Without examples/evidence to go by, though, it's hard to make a choice of "best answer." The evidence I see on Baidu, for example, point to something like a flaming attack in a comments thread. To fit my context, I am going with "lay into him"
