Hello,

I am translating a medical document regarding hip and pelvic exams. At the end of a Radiology report I have come across "In visione allo specialista Ortopedico". Does the 'In visione' mean 'seen by...'?

The Radiology report lists the findings of the pelvis and hip x-rays so it is completed. It ends with the 'In visione..." sentence. I'm inclined to leave it in the present tense. Thank you both very much for your input and help.

Not at all The report has been completed, and at the end it says 'In visione, etc.'. I don't see any confusion there...

An easy solution You could of course use a noun to get around the tense problem

Whatever, but your interpretation indicates that while the radiologist is concluding the report, the images are being reviewed by a specialist... which IMO doesn't make much sense.
Another clue is the preposition "allo" (governed by "si invia") rather than "presso lo" (sono in visione presso..."
I think it's just shorthand for [si invia...]

The tense is key Salma, I agree with you that the report is in the process of being reviewed/assesssed as there is no indication that it will be sent to the specialist as the sentence starts with a capital letter. It's threfore a safe bet that it is currently with the specialist for the purposes of being evaluated.
