Spanish term

decuento

Spanish to English Tech/Engineering Mechanics / Mech Engineering Vending machine manual
This word is mentioned on a few occasions in the text.

Lisa McCarthy (asker) Jun 14, 2013:
Hi all Sorry to have to close this without providing feedback on what 'decuento' actually means. I delivered the translation with a query regarding this term as I wasn't sure what it meant. I sent another email asking what translation they eventually settled on but I have had no response, I'm afraid.

The only thing that occurs to me is something like 'discharge', 'dispensing system' or dosifier'.

counting / quantity monitoring

What the text is saying is that the machine should keep track of the amount of soluble powders (milk or chocolate), so that it knows not to attempt to dispense them when there is none left. Initially, the powder deposits have not been filled, and counting should be enabled so that the machine knows there is no powder to dispense, and will not deliver a cup of plain water. This is not necessary in the case of capsules, for some reason, but I don't why, since I don't know how the capsules get into the machine. However, if it's not counting them, they can always be dispensed, since the machine never thinks there are none left.
