"Wareneingang / ***Wandlung***:
"Der Wareneingang, die ***Umwandlung*** und die Lagerung dieses Primärpackmittels sowie dessen Vorbereitung werden in den mitgeltenden Dokumenten ABC, DEF und GHI detailliert beschrieben (siehe auch Kapitel 1.5.8 Mitgeltende Dokumente)."
Talking about the receipt of packaging materials for injection vial bottling.
I'm not quite sure of the sense of "Wandlung/Umwandlung" in this context. Usually it means something along the lines of "conversion", but would that be appropriate here? TIA for your help.

Comment: "Processing and/or handling make much better sense in this context than transformation or conversion, so thanks CMJ_Trans. I'll include John's "handling" in the glossary as well, but will use "processing" for my current text. As Robert says, it's safe. Kim's suggestion was an interesting one, but maybe a tad too specific; I'm not sure whether customs are involved here or not. If the packaging comes from within the same country, I'd presume not. Anyway, thank you all very much for your help."

transformation
conversion is probably okay too - but I prefer my suggestion (obviously)...

: for both I'd take transformation, but for >Umwandlung< maybe alteration?

handling
i.e it's talking about the receipt of the goods, and the handling of them prior to storage

processing under customs control
I think CMJ and John are on the right track. According to my logistics dico, Umwandlungsverfahren is 'processing under customs control.'
