VDI2198 (2002) Fuel Consumption Cycle.
The VDI cycle was designed to represent a typical forklift operation, but forklift applications differ significantly and actual fuel consumption in any given application can be higher or lower than is indicated by consumption on the VDI 2198 cycle.
It should be noted that in the same way that a Fiat uses less fuel than a Ferrari on the automotive ‘Urban’ cycle per the official fuel consumption figures, the VDI2198 test does not credit a more productive forklift truck for that capability.
