French term
sous objection

Law (general)
from a written transcript of a deposition
Hi all -
I was wondering how this seemingly simple legal phrase translates into English...
Here is the whole context:
De plus, les questions sur la recherche et le développement sont sous objection mais on va laisser le témoin répondre sous reserve.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

has been objected to, is the subject of objection, objection(s) has/have been raised
In English, we would be much more likely to express this in one of the above ways than the more literal "under objection", although the sense is there.

Sorry, have been objected to as the subject is "quesions" in the pularl, thus "have".

Nikki Scott-Despaigne
: When something is "sous objection" it is under objection, so to speak, thus subject to an objection : an objection has been made, raised... Your suggestion amounts to the opposite and is thus a mistranslation.//I have provided a clear, polite explanation.

under objection
That is, an objection has been made during the deposition to the questions. When an objection is made during a deposition, it noted and the person being deposed may be asked to answer the question nevertheless.

The following is related, I think:

The objected is noted in the deposition when it is taken. The judge, absent during the deposition, may only rule on the objection at a later date.

A note (for Nikki): "Under objection" may be infrequent (as you note in the Answer you proposed, but that is also true for "sous objection." ;-)
Another note (for writeaway) re: "not legal(see)":
Form "Appeal System Practice & Procedures":
5. ALTERNATIVE DISPUTE RESOLUTION [page 2]
• To recognize the diversity of issues appealed, a variety of dispute resolution approaches are made available by the Appeals Branch (AB). The approach chosen is geared to the nature of the issues under objection.

(c) Appeals Resolution Officer Contact [p. 10]
• The ARO reviews the file to determine the facts, the nature of the issues under objection and the identity of the participating parties.

subject to demurrer
Likely to work in AmE/CanE/BrE, but not in Turkish.
Example sentence:
Plaintiffs\\\' Complaint is subject to demurrer under the Virginia Right to Farm Act, Va. Code §3.1-22.29.
