subsequent crop
I have done a lot of translations in the field of agriculture, and this is how I always translated "Nachbau"
Example sentence:
After the application of XXX, all winter cereals can be seeded in the fall as subsequent crops following shallow cultivation.

: While "replant" may suggest something else to a hobby gardener, the meaning will be perfectly clear to the farmers this text is obviously aimed at. They don't need an "explanatory translation" in the form of "second crop" or "subsequent crop".

Colin Rowe
: I agree that "replant" does not work in the given context, as the emphasis is on the different crop being planted and not the field being replanted.

: It really doesn't matter what it may possibly sound like, that's the correct technical term.

: I too agree with replanted, it seems to be the standard term for Nachbau/nachgebaut in this context.

: I actually agree with the comment Andrew posted, replanting suggests that the original planting needed to be repeated

: The field is replanted; the winter cereal crops are planted as a second/subsequent crop following on from whatever was growing there prior to the "Anwendung von XXX".

: Unless someone can provide a reference to a text where 'replanting' is used in this context (with a usage example and online source), I'd have to agree with Jacinda; to a native speaker this answer incorrectly implies the replanting the original crop

German term (edited):
können nachgebaut werden
a second crop can be planted
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multiple_cropping
In agriculture, multiple cropping is the practice of growing two or more crops in the same space during a single growing season. [1] It is a form of polyculture. It can take the form of double-cropping, in which a second crop is planted after the first has been harvested, or relay cropping, in which the second crop is started amidst the first crop before it has been harvested.

Reason why I didn't propose 'replant': It sounds like the farmer has had second thoughts, has dug the cereal shoots up and put them elsewhere in the field.
(with apologies to P. Mühle)
Hence the more carefully phrased sentence above ("a second crop of winter cereals can be planted...)

@ Cetacea
I suspect this may be another one of those 'native speaker things':
Replanting Christmas Trees
Replanting a Christmas tree begins with digging a hole that's about 1 1/2 times larger than the root mass and gently lowering the sapling into place.

: I suspect this is one of those "context things": None of the sources you cite directly above have anything to do with agriculture. Certain terms may actually have a different meaning when used in a specialist context...

Whilst it may be possible to ‘replant a field’ with the same crop, it is not possible to ‘replant a crop’ without first uprooting it. This is the just way the English language works.

: With everything you have said. The most important point is that is a different (winter) crop being planted.

Not quite sure, in this specific case, but I thought it might be useful to remind the asker of the sources quoted in response to his/her original question on the same/similar topic.
