Norwegian (Bokmal) term

bingefotball

Norwegian (Bokmal) to English Other Sports / Fitness / Recreation
Anyone know what this is called in English? "binge drinking" is one thing, but I don't thing "binge football" will give the desired associations... !

Well spotted, Charles. OK, "mini-pitch football" it is. Here's a link that may prove useful for future reference.
Charles Ek Aug 3, 2012:
I don't thoink it's "mini soccer", from looking at the rules: http://www.thefa.com/GetIntoFootball/Players/MiniSoccer/Mini... There's no mention of the walled aspect that the "binge-" part necessarily involves. "Mini-pitch football" has substantial support in examples at http://tinyurl.com/ccf99pv. (As Kristian already made the essential suggestion, I won't be offering this as an answer.)

Thanks everyone. This has all been very helpful. However, the term I was actually looking for was "bingefotball", not "ballbinge". Sentence: "Om sommeren brukes banen til basketball og bingefotball." But thanks to your suggestions and links, I found this on the British Football Assoc's website here it is (surprisingly) called "mini soccer." http://www.thefa.com/GetIntoFootball/Players/MiniSoccer/Mini...

If someone has the time to corroborate this and enter it as an answer, I'd appreciate it.
Charles Ek Aug 2, 2012:
This appears to be football (soccer) played within the confines of four walls, without a roof it seems. See http://www.bingefotball.no/?page_id=16 and the related "ballbinge" at http://tinyurl.com/btquy79. There's an American analogue called "arena football" that involves the American version of football. Perhaps someone will come along with a UK term?

mini-pitches

I have played on those small fields for years.

You may check on http://www.scansis.no/default.pl?showPage=239

This is a company that makes this small football pitches, I am sure that this is the right translation. Actually the most common name for them in Norway is «ballbinger» something like a small pitch for ball games as they often have a opportunity for basketball as well.
