Ах ты господи. Только сейчас заметила, что заголовок \"урезался\". Там на конце надо бы добавить - в пласт.
Т.е. - нефтеотдача при закачке воды и газа в пласт.

Я уверена, что этот метод в России не называется методом Уилджа (или Уелджа).
В те годы (1952 !) иноземных журналов в России не читали.
Скорее всего этот метод (если он известен) никак не называется, или же называется что-нибудь вроде того, что я написала выше - тангенциальный метод, или "метод определения по углу наклона касательной".
В-общем, суть-то поняина из вышеприведенных ссылок, и метод действительно простой, графический.
Но как назвать - неясно.
Советую в переводже написать все-таки - тангенциальный метод Уилджа и сделать подстрочное примечание с разхяснениями и со ссылкойц на публикацию 1952 г - см. выше. Тогда будет понятно.
А вообще-то ссылок на методы расчета нефтеотдачи при закачках в пласт - очень много, вот например здесь можете посмотреть хорошие примеры по схеме Баклея Леверетта:
