Basic amount (Grunnbeløp)

This is the term used for a financial sum for any cacluation which includes salary, wages, insurance, benefits, etc. in the Norwegian Social Service system. It is a centrally and officially determined amount from which other calculations can be made (e.g. 2.5G will be two and half times the amount; perhaps for a social security claim). The amount rates are shown in the link.
