Spanish term
La oficina correspondiente para el cheque de la aseguranza
Spanish to English
Law/Patents
Law (general)
This phrase occurs in a power of attorney deed, and the issue is the word "aseguranza". The country is Mexico. It looks as if it should read "the office issuing insurance cheques." There are no further clues as to the issue for which which the poa is being issued. Is "aseguranza" here really just another local word for "seguros"? Or is this a false friend?

I am offering the translation of "aseguranza" into "
insurance company".
That is the way "compañía de seguros" is called in Spanish as spoken in the Southwest of the United States.
I believe you should change your source text, because you are asking for this specific term, not for the whole phrase.

Comment: "Thanks, that´s helpful. I had picked up that this format was used in California. Just didn´t know if the same applied to Mexico, or whether I was missing something. Best wishes. Sian."
