Having looked at images of this I don't believe this is to do with width of sleeve but with how/where it's joined to garment.
set in as opposed to "raglan" where seam goes to neckline , this goes to shoulder with, rarely, an extra patch that goes across shoulder to neck. Have a look at the images for this.

: "leg-of-mutton" more common as name than gigot. Google images don't show this type at all here for "martello"//sorry, your image below is NOT a leg-of-mutton sleeve type. See definition you give above. These are full/puffy at top then narrow from elbow.
