Does anyone know what Procal means here? The patient has COPDand has suffered AMI and seizures:

"Hemocultivos negativos. BAS cultivos negativos. Procal normal. Aumento de Leucocitos hasta 21 000"

I think is procalcitonin. Maybe a doctor can confirm it.

The level of procalcitonin raises in a response to a proinflammatory stimulus, especially of bacterial origin. In this case, it is produced mainly by the cells of the lung and the intestine. It does not raise significantly with viral or non-infectious inflammations.
