French to English Other Education / Pedagogy Application for Refugee Status
I am translating a document which is an application for refugee status. It contains a lot of personal information of the applicant. This section deals with his schooling - how many years of schooling, which school, and then "qualifications obtenues = TDS"

Any suggestions?
Many thanks.

Yes, The only problem with this is that all Terminales D are Sciences - why add sciences as if there are Terminales D arts/literature
Sheila Wilson Nov 21, 2011:
@ Mimi Could be right with the "Terminale D". Here's proof that this lycée has one: http://www.groupeadamasanogo.com/?page=3 Could the "S" be "sciences"?
Sheila Wilson Nov 21, 2011:
TD Science? Travaux Dirigés en sciences?
mimi 254 Nov 21, 2011:
could this simply be Terminale D - but then no idea what S could stand for
Carol Rush (asker) Nov 21, 2011:
Could this be some form of technical training? There is no clue as to what type of employment he has or anything else to guide me.
Carol Rush (asker) Nov 21, 2011:
Extra context SORRY!!

The person is from Cote d'Ivoire, and was born in 1988. The term does not appear anywhere else, it is a table which lists their education and training. "No of years of education / training - 2 years"
Then: from 2009 - 2010, and 2010 - 2011
Place: LYMAS (which I have googled and come up with the Lycee Moderne Adama Sangomo)
Qualifications obtenues: TDS

Location Is this French-French ?
Also if this is referring to someone who is still a child how old are they? If an adult how old are they now?
Does the term occur elsewhere in the document?
Can you tell us which country (or at least which continent) the potential refugee is originally from?

best guess .. cannot think of what else it might be :)
Peer comment(s):

disagree Leslie Marcus : Although I agree that "tutorials" can be a good translation of "TDs", I don't see how it fits this context which the Asker says comes after "qualifications obtenues".
