круглая печать

Russian to English Bus/Financial
The letter shall be signed by the chief of the enterprise applying for the licence and shall be authenticated with his gerbovaya (kruglaya) pechat'.

Клайв, это не странно - конечно, печати могут быть всякими, треугольными, квадратными и другими, но гербовая всегда (или по крайней мере преимущественно) круглая.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "This may seem a bit unethical, but rather than award 3 points to the first answerer (in truth you were no doubt simultaneous), I chose to award 4 for a better supported answer (and one which does actually address my feelings of puzzlement). Guess I should have just tried 'round seal' in Google first. Anyway, thanks to you both. I hope you can forgive me, Elena!"
