Spanish term

asignatura de modalidad

Spanish to English Social Sciences Education / Pedagogy
Text from Spain for translation to British English. Relating to Spanish universities and admission to them, this part talking about the "Prueba de Acceso a la Universidad (PAU)"

Discussion

Jenni Lukac (X) Nov 1, 2011:
Both answers provided are correct in a certain way. In addition to the general test, students are now allowed to take further tests on specific subjects (languages, etc.). It is basically an opportunity to raise their general test score but taking additional tests in a subject they believe they will do well in.

optional subject

The PAU has recently changed, I'm not sure if the subject is truly optional (in that you don't have to choose one at all) or if it is only optional in the sense that you choose which additional subject you will be examined on

Option

I found one high school explaining about Option s in this way:"Media Studies is taught as an Option at Key Stage 4".
