German term

Retretention

German to English Medical Medical (general) Hospital discharge report
Hello, could you help me with this term? The patient suffered from dysphagia and was examined with the use of FEES. The findings include the following sentence: "Keinerlei spontane *Retretentionen* im Hypopharynx". Thanks for any suggestions.

@ Ingeborg Ja, das hast Du richtig behalten, vielen Dank!
Ingeborg Gowans (X) Oct 28, 2011:
@ Marga thanks for confirming; I think i will :)
Marga Shaw Oct 28, 2011:
@ Ingeborg Why don't you enter this as an answer? I think that it can be only "retention". There is certainly no such term as "Retretention".

Typo? May well be, but I don't think I can verify this in any way. Asking my client won't help, because he is not a doctor and he can't speak German. :(
Ingeborg Gowans (X) Oct 28, 2011:
Retention? I think there is a typo here; could you verify the term, please?

I think its'a typo. an S is missing.

what they mean is "leftover food retention" that could be causing dysphagia. they ruled it out as a differential diagnosis.

if you read the article, it mentions, barium retention in the hypopharanx... I think, this might be the case here??
Note from asker:
This seems to be a very good hint. I've just found the term "pharyngeal retention" in the context of dysphagia, so it got me somewhere. Thank you!
