English term

photo/line index

English Tech/Engineering Photogrammetry
Context : one item in a list of practical exercises which is a paert of a curriculum of a course in remote sensing and GIS. Has to do more particularly with photogrammetry.

To be translated: Preparation of photo/line index and determination of photo scale.

If you could rephrase the phrase "preparation of photo/line index" more clearly or in more simpler terms, that would help me to translate it into French.

Thank you very much in advance

Setting up the photo/line index and determining the size and shape of the photo

A photo/line index is a piece of photo paper with tiny copies of all the pictures on this particular film. Usually an entire film can fit on a regular photo size (approx. 10x15 cm), so these index photos are indeed tiny.
When this is done, you can set up the size and shape of the pictures on the computer system. HTH

preparing photo for computer system and properly indexing it

Analytical Diapositives (If Required). Line Index of all Photography.
Original Film. ... One Hard Copy Plot for each Orthophoto. GIS Data. Administrative Boundaries. ...

Very simply put, this probably means that each photo has to be prepared (i.e. scale) and that each photo has a line index (for computer access and identification)

just applying common sense here
