was obviously not of interest

this is more or less the literal translation for this phrase. 'Offenbar' is 'obviously' in English, 'interessierte nicht' translates 'was not of interest'
Peer comment(s):

agree Horst Huber (X) : No, "obviously" is "offensichtlich", "offenbar" is closer to "to all appearances".

Thanks Horst, valid point :) However in this context 'obviously' would be the better translation for 'offenbar'.
