Confused by the use the word of the word 'eje' here. 'Axis' doesn´t make much sense to me in this context. First it is used to talk about support rails in toilets for the disabed and then referring to the 'eje' of the toilet. Any help appreciated!

El inodoro debería tener un espacio de acceso lateral de 80 cm o más para que la persona realice la transferencia desde la silla de ruedas, y su asiento situado a una altura de entre 45 cm y 50 cm. Además debería contar con una barra de soporte abatible en el lado del espacio de acercamiento al inodoro y barra de soporte fija en el lado contrario.Si se cuenta con suficiente espacio el inodoro debería contar a ambos lados con espacio de acercamiento, en ese caso ambas barras deben ser abatibles. Ambas barras deberían estar colocadas a una altura de entre 70 cm y 80 cm y separadas por una distancia de 65 cm de **eje a eje**. La altura del mecanismo de descarga del inodoro debería ser lateral al mismo a una distancia no mayor de 50 cm del **eje** del inodoro y situado a una altura entre 70 cm y 110 cm. Debería ser fácil de manipular y activar.

agree JOHN PENNEY (X) : Yes, i think the two grab bars (nice one!) are probably parallel, therefore they should be screwed in taking the midpoint of both as the "vertical" indication of measure.
