Au matin, chef de service. Conciliabules. Sténose d’une artère coronaire Intervention. Invasion de
l’artère fémorale. Longue tige avec une microcaméra qui serpente à l’intérieur de l’artère. La caméra progresse, on la suit sur le moniteur de contrôle, on n’est pas endormi, juste concerné. Moment déli-
cat. Chute de tension. Noir.
Very concise description of someone undergoing an operation. Do not understand this word in this context?

concerned
What I understand from just looking at this is that the patient is fully awake for the operation and therefore watching anxiously as the camera goes along their artery.

: In French "concerné" doesn't imply any anxiety

I agree - looking at it again, I realise it is involved.

: No, "être concerné" doesn't mean "être concentré" IMO

agree with you, but words do get different meanings in context!

A suggestion to get across what I think is meant, that the narrator is almost detached, watching as an outsider, but still happy to see what's going on...

You're not asleep, you're just there in the situation (caught up in it)
Hello,
First of all, "on" is probably best translated by "you" here, as the person being operated is describing what "one" would feel ("you" is more informal for "one").
There is an idea of "by chance/accident" (passivity) here, imho. The person being operated on is acting like it he just happens to be there lying on an operating table admist all the surgical procedures.
another possibility: You just happen to be there in the situation
I hope this helps.

OR you could jsut say "you're not asleep, you're just simply "there".

Confidence level should not be a 4, but rather a 2.

not too worried
I would turn the phrase around... For "on n’est pas endormi, juste concerné" I would say "awake, but not too worried."
Discussion
At any rate, it's not very clear, the French...
