It's a recording with its own photographic memory.
I basically agree with Yaiza's interpretation of the meaning; I don't think it refers to the recording technology used, but to the soundtrack recording's ability to capture and recreate the images and feelings of the film, which is what this suggestion aims to evoke. HTH :).
