Pronunciation note: This word is a member of the small group of past participles of the so-called regular (i.e., Germanic weak) verbs in which the dental suffix (-ed) is pronounced as a separate syllable when the verbal root ends in a non-dental plosive. That is, it is pronounced [jag-id], not [jagd] (as in "lagged").

High Quality Zoom, provided by Photo-Lux
Displaying of the zoomed images on the screen assumed that image will be resized (recalculated) in the memory of the PC, and, after that, a resized copy of the image will be displayed on the screen. In many cases a resized copy of the image can contain a lot of distortions - to smooth the jagged edges and to reduce the noise artifacts special filters should be used (smoothing or antialiasing technique).

Jagged edges noticeable on 800x600
... when I render something (only doing single frames at the moment, no animations) onto a size significantly greater than the default 800x600 (such as 1440x900 or 1280x800), jagged edges become noticeable, whereas they weren't noticeable on 800x600.

: But wouldn't that be "borroso" in Spanish? See http://www.howtosayin.com/say/english/imagen borrosa.html

yes, but we're definitely talking a blurred type of effect- jagged is a bit misleading here.

pixelated
My knowledge of these matters is nil, but isn't pixelation usually the issue when the resolation is unacceptably low on modern imaging devices?
Suerte.
