Entonces la teoría del Edipo era buena para dar cuenta de un tipo de *ordenamiento* que usualmente corresponde a los niños y no a las niñas, o más bien, en las niñas ordena una parte pero no del todo, no ordena el estilo de mujer que esa niña será. Por eso cuando Freud habló del “falo” –que normalmente se le confunde con el órgano, con el pene y no es así- lo que quería resaltar era que la función del falo es un símbolo de lo que vendría a colmar el deseo, el falo en tanto es un símbolo, limita enmarca y ordena.

Not sure how to interpret 'ordenamiento' in this context. TIA!

I would go with "ordering" here.

I think that "command" may be too strong here. "Command" tends to imply authority whereas "order" does not (necessarily).

I believe that the semantic hierarchy here would be command>order>direct.
