Thank you for clearing the point Sure they would make more fuss about it. Thank you very much !
Tony M Aug 23, 2010:
No There's nothing in the source text to clearly imply that the ice-cream is going to be free, so it would be over-interpreting to translate in such a way that this might be implied. It might be the case, but you'd be on dodgy ground to translate it that way with checking with the customer first!

My feeling is that they say 'enjoy', but avoid specifically mentioning that it is free; if they really were going to give something away, then I'd expect them to make more fuss about the fact: "admission is included, as is a free ice-cream".

If in doubt, don't add anything...

Just an idea; is there anything specific in your context to say why it should be 'hands' — sounds as if there might be some nautical connection...? And do you know if it is likely just to be 'ordinary' ice-creams (cones, etc.), or some exotic sit-down sundae thingies?

(based on the idea of 'pause-pipi', of course!)

OK, so that explains the reference to 'hands' — however, it's pretty weak in EN, and I think I'd be inclined to let it drop in your FR translation.
