Spanish term

Bita

Spanish to English Tech/Engineering Ships, Sailing, Maritime
I'm translating a list of specifications for different types of boats. One item in the list says:

Bita: Tiron 150 t

In case it helps, there's a diagram under the list item showing 'condition 1' and 'condition 2' of the 'bita', with the former simply showing what looks to be the x and y axes of a graph, labelled H and V respectively, and the latter showing the same diagram but with a third, unlabelled line running upwards from the corner of the two axes at an angle of 26 degrees to the x-axis.

Does anyone have any idea what Bita means?

Bitt (images) I tried to send Mercedes this link, but apparently it didn't work. In this group of images there are several 'bitts'. Hope it works this time!

agree cranesfreak : Agree. Mooring lines are run from bitts on deck through chocks to bollards on a pier when the ship is moored. ... www.globalsecurity.org/military/library/policy/.../14160_ch...

Nombre aplicado a los postes de madera fuertemente asegurados en la cubierta e un barco, en las proximidades de la proa, alrededor de los cuales se arrollan los cables del ancla cuando se fondea la nave.

Noun 1. bollard - a strong post (as on a wharf or quay or ship for attaching mooring lines);
Example sentence:

"the road was closed to vehicular traffic with bollards"

Samson post

If it's just one, it's known as a samson post. If two, bitts.
