Dutch term

langmaker

Dutch to English Tech/Engineering Food & Drink Bakery
This is apparently a machine that does something to pieces of dough, making them into a proper shape for bread. My first thought is "stretcher" since it literally translated is "something to make long", but I'm not sure if this is an existing term for bakeries or if this machine is called something else...?
Proposed translations (English)
3 +1 dough moulder
3 length extender
3 dough stretcher

Mark Straver (asker) Mar 2, 2010:
Definitely looks like similar machines. Thanks very much for the pointer -- a first glance shows me "long moulder".. that sounds really strange though! I'd be more inclined to choose one of the options already suggested here, instead.
Andrew Howitt Mar 2, 2010:
Try this website. It has both English and Dutch for these machines. I suspect it is the same company and also the job posted yesterday.

There are various pieces of machinery that can be used, but the one that seems to come up most frequently is the dough moulder.

length extender

Not sure about this, but there are a few hits for 'length extender' in combination with 'bakery' or 'dough', for example. Not all are relevant however. Googling in combination with 'dough' even gets a hit for male genital organ extension LOL

dough stretcher

Stretcher itself won't work. You get a long of hits on Google for stretchers used with injured persons or male body part enlargement (I will leave the answer up to you).

Anyway, I think it's called a dough stretcher.

Note from asker:
In context in the text, I've also used variations of this term, like "dough stretching belt" and "dough stretching bridge", so thank you too for your input!
