Japanese term

退床

Japanese to English Medical Medical: Health Care
Am I correct that 退床 is discharge and 入床 is admit? I can't seem to find these terms together with an English translation, but I do believe that the context suggests the above translations.

I think you're close with 'admit / discharge' but I think it specifically refers to patients being assigned a bed and that bed's equipment being set-up. See section marked 入床の方法 and 退床の方法 in following link:

discharged from a hospital bed

I found the definition of "退床": 病院の病床に入院中であって、 「病診連携ベット」からは、離れたことを指す。
From this, I can say that although a patient is not discharged from a hospital, they are discharged from a hospital bed which uses a monitoring system, such as ICU. It could be that the patient is then admitted to a bed on a normal ward.
