Spanish term

"Personaje y su doble"

Spanish to English Art/Literary Art, Arts & Crafts, Painting
This is a name for a series of paintings to be presented at an art show. Without seeing what the paintings are, it is difficult to translate this. Any ideas?
Many thanks.

Se  trata de una serie de pequeños cuadros bajo el título “Personaje y su doble”

ego and alter-ego / self and alter-ego / self and double

the term "the double" is a tenet of artistic and literary representation. However, as a title, I think "ego and alter-ego" is potentially more compelling..

I also think "character/person and.." sounds clumsy and unconvincing in English, whereas "personaje" doesn't sound the same to me. Others may and will disagree :-)

agree Natalia Pedrosa (X) : I like "ego and alter ego", sounds poetic. ;)

Figure and mirror-image

I like what the others have suggested so far. This is just another option. Could also be "Image and Mirror-image".

Two-faced

As none of us have actually seen the painting, I'm offering this somewhat imaginative interpretation for discussion after discarding "character and double" which sounded rather flat. Cheers!
