It is possible to have 'Fundamental Chemistry' as a module in University. I studied Chemistry as my first degree, and in my first year at university, we had to cover the concepts of 'Fundamental Chemistry' (some were taught in secondary school, others were not).

Some examples below:
1. Kyoto University
The purpose of "Fundamental Chemical Experiments", an undergraduate course open to all departments in Kyoto University, is to learn basic operations of the experiment and the theory behind the operations.

On second thought, I think 机化实验 is the right one. fundamental chemistry - chemistry that is taught in high school.
pharmaceutical/medicinal chem - is specialized chemistry already.
organic phamaceutical chem - a division of pharmaceutical chem.
just like analytical pharmaceutical chem is another division.

I personally think it is more likely for 机化 to mean "organic chemistry" (有机化學).

both are possible. 机化实验 - organic chemistry; 基化实验 - fundamental chemistry
