Italian term
area didattica
Italian to English
Other
Education / Pedagogy
It's a heading of a clause in a Statute description.
It refers to a grouping of particular educational departments, for the purpose of creating specific degree courses.
I can't seem to find a UK or US equivalent.
And Didactic or Educational Area just don't seem to fit.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Comment: "Dear Barbara, I thank you for your help with this. In the end I opted for interdisciplinary learning area, which I think gives the right idea. Thanks"

teaching field
I think area didattica here means a teaching field, for example, like TESOL, (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages), and this is one of the particular education departments in US colleges and universities (I'm not sure about schools in UK). The course teaches students who are already teaching at schools about how one acquires a first foreign language, including brain mechanism, bilingualism, etc.
