German term

die Bauherrschaft

German to English Other Construction / Civil Engineering Fireplace
I see from my dictionary that Bauherr = client for whom a job is being done - is Bauherrschaft simply a synonym for Bauherr? I cannot find it in any reference sources.

This is from a tender from a Swiss fireplace manufacturer:

"Wir freuen uns, Ihnen aufgrund Ihrer telefonischen Anfrage vom 20.8.09 und den uns zugestellten Unterlagen zuhanden der Bauherrschaft als Variante, eine Ganstahlfeuerstelle mit Lamellengestaltung offerieren zu dürfen."

Discussion

Peter Downes Sep 13, 2009:
@Andrew The role of the third party could make a large difference - interior designer, heating contractor or just the installer for a few cases.
Andy S (asker) Sep 13, 2009:
Indeed... Good point Kim. The letter is addressed to as third party - perhaps an agent acting on behalf of the client.
Kim Metzger Sep 13, 2009:
But "zuhanden der Bauherrschaft" seems to imply that the documents were sent to someone other than the client.
