English term

Peak/Through

English to Turkish Medical Medical: Pharmaceuticals
"It's a description of the variance in the drug PK profile. One of the purported advantages of Product M is that it is supposed to deliver a
smoother level of anticoagulation effect - less difference between peak drug in the body and trough - which may lead to less risk of side
effects such as bleeding. That's the story, anyway, and that's why the Apixaban team decided to opt for twice daily dosing to ensure a smoother PK curve, leading to a potential safety benefit, rather than once a day, which would start with
a larger bolus effect (potentially causing more bruising and bleeding) and then would taper off by the time 24 hours had passed (leaving the
patient at greater risk of stroke)"

pik/taban
