Japanese to English Bus/Financial Business/Commerce (general)
Does anyone know a good English term for this? I can't seem to find one...

Thank you

It really depends on the context, i.e. what specifically the company is doing. It could be something as simple as "the receiving company" or it could be something that needs to be more specific in English.

Receiving company seems more appropriate. Under Japanese Law, a Special Purpose Company is 特定目的会社(SPC).SEE, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special_purpose_company_(Japan)...

special purpose company (to acquire and hold shares)

It's receiving something, presumably shares of another company. From a quick search, I think special purpose company might work for you. Depending on the context, simply "the receiving company" may work.

agree Duncan Adam : yes, or 'special purpose vehicle' (SPV)

Holding Company

agree casey : Depends on context, but this is certainly a possibility http://journal.mycom.co.jp/news/2008/06/06/006/index.html

neutral Duncan Adam : Maybe sometimes, but generaly not. Your reference is talking about leveraged buyouts, in which case the 受皿会社 would definitely be a SPV (special purpose vehicle). 'Holding companies' are usually for existing groups of companies, and these would not be 受皿.
