jacana54 (X) May 29, 2009:
embarcadero tal vez "ramp" o "loading chute" y el tubo "cattle squeeze", posiblemente

Bubo Coroman (X) May 29, 2009:
corrales these would be "holding pens" (the animals are sorted into them and left there only temporarily)
jacana54 (X) May 29, 2009:

Bubo Coroman (X) May 29, 2009:
tubo in on Welsh upland farms (sheep and cows) they call the "corredor estrecho" a "race"... the "corrales" and the "embarcadero" would both be a kind of "pen"
jacana54 (X) May 29, 2009:
jacana54 (X) May 29, 2009:

Wendy Gosselin (asker) May 29, 2009:
tal cual!
MPGS May 29, 2009:

on the brow of a hill

This is from Wikipedia, (regions of Argentina):
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pampa

"The Pampas (from Quechua, meaning "plain") are the fertile South American lowlands that include the Argentine provinces of Buenos Aires, La Pampa, Santa Fe, and Córdoba, most of Uruguay, and the southernmost end of Brazil, Rio Grande do Sul, covering more than 750,000 km2 (289,577 sq mi). These vast plains are only interrupted by the low Ventana and Tandil hills near Bahía Blanca and Tandil (Argentina), with a height of 1,300 m (4,265 ft) and 500 m (1,640 ft) respectively. The climate is mild, with precipitation of 600 mm (23.6 in) to 1,200 mm (47.2 in), more or less evenly distributed through the year, making the soils appropriate for agriculture. This area is also one of the distinct physiography provinces of the larger Parana-Paraguay Plain division."
Peer comment(s):

agree Muriel Vasconcellos : Definitely a 'hill'. Could also be on the 'top' of a hill - 'brow' is nice, but somewhat poetic. One would rarely if ever use the expression in spoken language.

Thank you, Muriel. I'll keep that in mind. (I don't translate into English). :-)
