I know a "francesina" is a lace-up shoe known as an "oxford", but would "intera" suggest this is an ankle boot version?

Yes, there are a lot of these about at the moment. I've done several translations where "francesina" referred specifically to a "lace-up ankle boot", so I'm sure that must be what they mean.
