agree Jo Bennett : Yes, I prefer this to communion, which makes one think immediately of "Abendmahl", though it's odd that "Abendmahl" is not mentioned under any of the 4 points.

I´ve never heard the word "Gemeinschaft" used for "communion" and I have visited many churches in Germany and Austria
agree Rebecca Garber : Snce Lutherans believe that communion is central to the service, if they meant communion, they would have used the term Abendmahl.

agree Bernhard Sulzer : here it refers to the relationship/companionship between Christians as individuals. Communion can of course also refer to the Eucharist. I believe "Christian fellowship" would also work.:) http://www.answers.com/topic/fellowship
